| 3 | فِي رَقٍّ مَنْشُورٍ | In a Scroll unfolded. | In an outstretched fine parchment. | On fine parchment unrolled. |
| 4 | وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ | By the much-frequented Fane. | And the House (Kaaba) that is visited. | And the House frequented. |
| 5 | وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ | By the Canopy Raised High. | And the elevated canopy | And the roof exalted. |
| 6 | وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ | And by the Ocean filled with Swell;. | And the swollen sea | And the sea kept filled. |
| 7 | إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ | Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;. | Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass. | Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass. |
| 8 | مَا لَهُ مِنْ دَافِعٍ | There is none can avert it;. | There shall be none to avert it. | There is none that can ward it off. |
| 10 | وَتَسِيرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا | And the mountains will fly hither and thither. | And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). | And the mountains move away with (awful) movement. |
| 11 | فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ | Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;. | So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth). | Then woe that day unto the deniers |
| 12 | الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ | That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles. | Those who sport entering into vain discourses. | Who play in talk of grave matters. |
| 15 | أَفَسِحْرٌ هَذَا أَمْ أَنْتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ | "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? | Is it magic then or do you not see? | Is this magic, or do ye not see? |
| 39 | أَمْ لَهُ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُونَ | Or has He only daughters and ye have sons? | Or has He daughters while you have sons? | Or hath He daughters whereas ye have sons? |
