| 2 | الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ | Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by. | Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap). | Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. |
| 3 | يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ | Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! | He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. | He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. |
| 6 | نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ | (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze). | It is the fire kindled by Allah. | (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled. |
| 7 | الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ | The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts. | Which rises above the hearts. | Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). |
